A Internship Scheme known as “NITI Internship Scheme” seeks to attract students who are studying for Undergraduate, Graduate or Post Graduate degrees or Research Scholars who are enrolled at a recognized institution or university in India or in other countries in the form of “interns”. These ‘interns” shall be given exposure to various Verticals/ Divisions/Units within NITI Aayog and would be expected to supplement the process of analysis within NITI Aayog through empirical collection and collation of in-house and other information.Â
The internship will be on unpaid basis. This will allow short term exposure of “selected candidates” with the different Verticals/Divisions/Units of NITI Aayog, Government of India as ‘Interns”. These are the domains/areas in where internships are sought These are:

The Internship period must last at minimum six weeks, but not more than six months. Interns are required to be equipped with laptops. NITI Aayog shall provide them work space, internet access and other essentials according to the requirements of the relevant Heads.

Allowing young academic talents to join the work of NITI Aayog to gain mutual benefits.
“Interns” shall have an chance to be informed about Governance’s functions and Development Policy issues within the Government of India and contribute to the formulation of policies through the creation of policy inputs such as empirical analyses briefing reports as well as policy papers.
Benefits
Experience Certificate/Internship Completion Certificate: A certificate regarding successful completion of Internship shall be issued by the Adviser of the concerned Subject Division

Note: Interns who do not complete the necessary timeframe will not receive a certificate.
Eligibility
Bonafide students of any recognized University/Institution within India or abroad, fulfilling following conditions are eligible to apply for the internship:-
Undergraduate students who have completed or participated during the term-end examinations of the second year/4th semester of bachelor degree program and achieving at least 85 percent or equivalent marks in 12th class.
Graduate students who have completed or participated in the term-end examinations of the first year/second semester of their postgraduate programme or in pursuit of research/PhD, and securing at least 70 percent or the equivalent mark in graduation.
Students who took part in the final examination or have just finished Graduation/PG and are wait for admission to higher studies could be considered for an the internship if they:
they have secured 70% or more cumulative marks in all the years/semesters of their graduation/post-graduation till the date of application.
The time period between the declaration of the result of the final exam and the month of internship cannot extend beyond six month e.g. when the exam results are declared during the month of June then the applicant is eligible to apply for the internship that will begin in November.
NOTES:
Candidates are required to apply 2 months ahead to be considered for the internship. the application is valid for the month of their choice only.
During the time of the internship students must be in at least 75% attendance to be able to successfully finish the internship.
The time period between the declaration of the results of the final exam and the date of beginning the internship cannot be over 6 months. it is only applicable for those who apply after having completed their studies.
The applicant selected for the interview must provide original mark sheets and a NOC from the college or institution at the date of joining. If this is not done, the candidature of the applicant will be canceled.

After having read the directions, complete the form. Fill in all the information about the applicant.
In the field titled “Area of Interest”, select only one area of your interest.
Click on Preview to confirm all details. On the preview page, verify the details you entered.
If you think that a correction is needed, just click on the Edit button.
When all the fields have been completed, a submit button will appear to confirm submission of the form. After that, click Submit.

NOTES:
A candidate is eligible to apply for the internship when he or she meets the eligibility requirements for minimum qualifications listed within the rules.
Application for internships is accepted online only from the 1st (00:00 hours) until the 10th (23:59 hours) of each month. Any other method of application is accepted.
It is recommended to verify the information prior to submitting. Any correspondence regarding changes to information will be accepted.
The applicant should keep a record of the their Registration Number when completing the application form to be used for future information.
NITI Aayog does not assume any responsibility for not able to complete their application due to of technical difficulties or for any other reason that is outside its control. The applicant is not required to send the printed copy of their ONLINE application, or any other documents supporting it.
The applicant should submit their application within 6 months after the notification of the results of the final examination. For e.g. If the results are announced in June, the student could apply for the internship in December the deadline.
An indication of choice does not reserve any rights to offer the same service. The allocation of the desired industry is subject to available resources and the decision of NITI Aayog.
