Introduction

The Haryana Judicial Services Examination 2024 is properly recognized as The Haryana Civil Judge Junior Division Exam that is conducted via the Haryana High Court to choose suitable individuals to the vacant places of Junior Judge Civil & Judicial Magistrates Haryana civil services through Haryana PSC.

Eligibility Criteria

Based on the Haryana PSC Judicial Services Eligibility Criteria 2023, applicants must meet these requirements: 

1. An eligible candidate’s educational background is based on possessing an education from a College recognized by the law & approved by the Bar Council of India and a law degree awarded through LLB (Bachelor of Laws) degree that entitles a claimant to practice in legislation as regulated by the Advocate Act, 1961 It’s crucial that candidates have been registered by the deadline to lodge for an application.
2. Citizenship Candidates must be citizens of India and have the necessary documents to prove citizenship.
3. The age limit for candidates must be between 21 to 42 years old. The upper age limit can be reduced for certain categories of reserved candidates. Specifically:

• The following categories of applicants: Scheduled Caste Scheduled Tribe and backward class applicants from Haryana are granted a break of 5 years. This allows applicants to apply up to the age of 47.
• Women who have been divorced from Haryana or wives whose husbands have divorced, widows, or women who have been living apart with their spouses for at least two years, and the wives of disabled military personnel also get a 5-year period of relaxation.
• Unmarried women from Haryana may apply for a visa until the age of 45.
• Physically disabled applicants from Haryana get 10 years of relaxation.
• For candidates with physical disabilities who are in the SC/BC category in Haryana the relaxation period is extended to 15 years.

Scheme and Syllabus for the Examination

Preliminary Examination

The initial exam consists of multiple-choice and objective types, consisting of 125 questions, each having four marks. Each time you answer incorrectly there is a penalty of 0.8 marks will be assessed. The syllabus contains questions relating to current developments, Indian legal history, the evolution of constitutional law, as well as statutes described by Civil Law-I, Civil Law-II as well as Criminal Law, as specified for the Mains Examination.

Mains Examination

Interview

The test is worth 200 marks. To be eligible for the viva-voce test, applicants must score at least 50% marks aggregate on all written exams during the Mains. People from Scheduled castes, Scheduled tribes Physically Handicapped, Backward Classes as well as Ex-Serviceman (ESM) category must have at least 45 percent aggregate marks to be eligible for the viva-voce.

This interview is conducted in English and will be intended to test the personality of the candidates. It will include issues of general interest and assess candidates’ vigilance as well as their intelligence and general outlook. Participation in the viva-voce/interview test is essential for the selection process.
